Bowden’s Photo Gallery 2021-22

As the school year begins, so does Cherokee High School’s many fall sports programs. During last school year, I had the privilege of attending a few sports events and a chorus concert (which I really enjoyed), and was able to take lots of photos for the teams.

I decided to post my photography highlights of favorite moments from these events, reflecting on the many successful seasons and events Cherokee held last year.

JV Softball

The JV softball team ended their 2021 season with a 11-5 record and County Runner-Up.

Below: The softball team competes in the County Championship in late September.

Below: Cherokee battles the Etowah Eagles in their regular season on October 5. This was also Strike Out Cancer night.

December Chorus Concert

The chorus classes did an excellent job in their annual festive performance- I’d give it 5/5 stars! The classes held their Christmas Chorus Concert December 13. Multiple classes were featured in their festive attire, including the Etudes, the Red Coat Men’s Chorus, Treble Chorus, Chorale (the top Chorus class offered at Cherokee), and the Teasley 8th grade chorus class (now 9th graders at Cherokee!) got to sing some jingles with the high schoolers, too. Girls Varsity Basketball

Our Girls Varsity basketball team crushed their season, ending with a 19-4 regular season record and 6-Feat Region Champions! They also went on to compete in the Elite 8 in their post season! I was able to attend senior night and capture some great shots of our 2022 graduating class. Read my article about the special night and their successful season here.

Varsity Baseball

Our Varsity baseball team went 20-10 in their regular season, and went to the Sweet 16 in the post season. I was able to attend several of the team’s games- it’s always fun to watch our Warriors compete!

Below: Our baseball Warriors clinch the series against Woodstock HS, with a final score of 5-3 and 1-0.

Below: The baseball team dominated Alpharetta on April 12. It was also Chick-fil-a night.

Below: The team defeated Etowah in game one of the series on April 19.

Below: Our Warriors competed against the Etowah Eagles in game two of the series. It was also Youth Baseball Night, and a student challenged Mr. Ingham to a race on the field!

A new year means new beginnings, and I can’t wait to see what this year holds for our teams. They competed with heart and resilience last year, and with the first few games of the seasons this year already underway, we can expect the same enthusiasm and success! Thank you for a great year, Warriors, and cheers to this year!
