CHS baseball program celebrates historic season

The CHS Baseball banquet was held at Generations Church this past Thursday, May 20, 2021.

The night started with scholarships awarded to two Seniors from the Adams family. The scholarship is awarded based on the players’ character and leadership. Austin Cole and Carson Mynatt were gifted each a $500 scholarship.

After the teams had dinner, each team was introduced and recognized on stage.

The first year, second year, and third year letterman were recognized prior to the only fourth year letterman’s recognition, Joe Fisher.

The Varsity team had two Academic All-Region players, Micheal Jarvis (4.42) and Austin Rosenberg (4.24), and 11 All-Region players.

The team voted for Austin Rosenberg for Teammate of the Year. He received a red blazer along with his plaque.

The coaches also gave out Press Box Awards such as Best Walk Up and Worst Slide.

Last season’s award winners were recognized this year due to the cancellation of the banquet last year.

The team voted Cody Montgomery for last year’s Teammate of the Year. He received a red blazer along with his plaque.

Due to COVID-19, last season was ended early and the team only played 11 games (7-4).

This year’s graduating class is the winningest class in CHS baseball history despite last year’s season being cut short. This years team also set school records for total wins. They hosted two home playoffs series, the first in school history.

This banquet was a fantastic celebration for the great season. We are excited to watch and see what the next season has in store.
