What do you like the most about CHS?

I like My Spanish class. I like all my classes, but I really like My Spanish class. My teachers are really nice!

What are your hobbies outside of school?

Well, I like listening to music, dancing and fishing, and I love Taekwondo.

She said it full of love and appreciation.

What is Taekwondo like to you?

I’m not at a high level, because, I just started, recently. I love it. It’s so fun!

A little touch of anxiety hid in her eyes showing the fear of starting something new. However, slowly, excitement started to run through her veins as she spoke. By the end of the sentence the thrill of her new-found love for Taekwondo was visible in her eyes as they glimmered at the words coming out of her mouth.

Where are you from?

I was born in Savannah, Georgia.

Did you live there for a long time?

No, I was born in Savannah, but I lived in Tifton for a long time, and then we just moved here this summer. I’ve been to Atlanta before but I don’t think I’ve ever been to Canton.

Harris spoke calmly as if it was no challenge at all. Proving her utmost bravery as she moves through the extremely challenging obstacles of starting a new life in an unknown city where everything is new.

What do you want to do after High School?

I want to go to college. I want to go to college to be a veterinarian.

She responded immediately, without even thinking about it.

Is there a reason why you want to be a veterinarian?

Yeah, because I love animals! We have four dogs, and I like all kinds of animals because they’re just so cute!

She spoke with so much certainty it seemed as though she already held the degree in her hands. Addressing her love for animals it was clear to anyone that she had found the perfect career.

What was the happiest moment of your life?

I’ve had a lot of happy moments, I don’t think I have a favorite. But some of them are, whenever I went to Busch Gardens in Tampa Florida. It’s like a park, an amusement park. It was for a school field trip, in Middle School. We got into a bunch of rides, and it was so fun. And also when I went to Miami, it was so fun. We went to the Miami zoo!

Harris spoke with true gratitude. The excitement in her voice was sizable when talking about her trip to Bush Garden with her friends. Holding a finger up she then started rapidly talking about the Miami zoo and the cute animals found there.

What was the most challenging moment of your life?

One time I broke my wrist. But I was okay. I just slipped and fell and then it broke. But I was okay!

What is your family like?

They are really sweet! I have four siblings. Three sisters and one brother. They are all so cute! We have four dogs two boys, two girls. Two of them are schnauzers twins, it’s a boy and a girl. And their names are Whiskey and Western. And the name of the English pointer is Dracco. And we also have a little Chihuahua, her name is Girlfriend, and she is older than my brother, she is 12.

The way she praised her family truly showed her appreciation and love for them. When talking about her pets the tone of her voice went higher and faster; she was clearly excited. Including her pets as a crucial part of her family is truly an act expected of an animal lover like Harris.
