The first few questions have already taught me a lot about Matthew. He’s a kind hearted kid who has pets and 3 siblings.

QUESTION 3-8

Question: What is the toughest thing you’ve been through?

Throughout my life we’ve moved a lot, so having to adjust to a new area a bunch of times has been a lot and sometimes can just be a roller coaster of emotions.

Question: What do you miss most about where you’re from?

Probably my friends, I have a lot of good friends. We would get together a lot over the weekends and have sleep overs a lot.

Question: Do you have any hobbies outside of school?

One thing I’ve been getting into lately is I’ve been lifting a lot. Lifting weights I take a weight training class which helps and I also go to the gym with my dad on the weekends.

I can really tell Matthew is a genuinely happy person and enjoys life. I’m happy for him getting into lifting because it can help develop some really great habits.

Question: Have you made any plans for after high school?

I would love to go to a college somewhere.

Question: If you were stranded on a island what three things would you bring?

Probably a hatchet, probably a fishing net or a fishing rod and then like a tent.

Through the course of this interview I learned a lot about Matthew as a person. He’s a funny, gentle soul who likes to laugh and really likes his family. I learned he has a dog and three siblings, he plans on college and he has actually moved quite about throughout his life which sometimes was hard for him. I’m glad I was able to interview him and I can walk away saying I learned a lot about a new friend. He may be new to Cherokee this year but his personality makes him able to fit right in!
