CHS Slowpitch team finishes their season with State Runner-Up

The CHS 2021 Slowpitch team finished as the GHSA State Runner-Up on April 22. CHS fought their way back up from the losers bracket by a 14-10 loss from West Laurens and never looked back. CHS later defeated Franklin County, Haralson County, Kennesaw Mountain, and to get to the championship, sent West Laurens home.


Hart County, Kennesaw Mountain, Cherokee, West Laurens, Franklin County, North Oconee, Jefferson, and Harald County all competed for State Champion in the Elite 8 on April 21, and at the end of the day, four teams progressed to the final four on April 22. The tournament was held at Twin Creeks Park in Woodstock.

Hart County was undefeated through the bracket to ultimately beat CHS to win their first State Championship. They ended up beating CHS 13-1.

Hart County takes the “State Champions” title Thursday afternoon.
