My Netflix favorites

If you’re a person like me who likes to relax inside on rainy days or just any day and watch Netflix, then this article is for you.

The Vampire Diaries

One of my favorite series to catch on Netflix is “The Vampire Diaries.” I have watched that show countless times, and continue to keep watching it over and over. I’m currently watching it again. If you like extreme romance and drama, I suggest you watch that show.

The full series is on Netflix, so you don’t have to wait for new seasons. I know a lot of girls who watch this show (don’t get me wrong, it could be for guys too), and they love it. There are some people who don’t like it, but my fellow girls who watch it, you know what I’m talking about!

“The Vampire Diaries” is about mystical creatures such as vampires, werewolves, and witches; it’s based on the reality of high school students, but spiced up.

Elena is the main character, and she falls in love with a 150 year old vampire named Stefan. The show revolves around Elena and Stefan’s love story, and Elena’s life. The vampires are immortal, so they don’t age, and they can’t be killed unless they’re daggered in their heart.

This is an action-packed blend of romance, mysticism, and suspense. From Klaus’s attempts to take down Elena to make hybrids (this makes sense if you’re a fan), to Stefan turning into a ripper, or Damon fighting for his love with Elena, there is always a plot line to keep viewers engaged. But I guarantee you’ll be all for Damon at the end of the show.

Shameless

Another one of my favorites I watched is “Shameless.” That show revolves around drama. It has dark themes at time including death, substance abuse, and alcohol abuse, so it might not be the show for you or for younger viewers, but it is definitely one of my favorites.

Overall, I think this series really entertaining, particularly really funny at times, especially as these dark themes are contrasted with comic relief. I waited for the 9th season to come out for so long, but I haven’t got to it yet.

The story centers around a delusional family who has a many crazy events going on in their life, from Monica (their mom) disappearing and coming back, drugs, Fiona taking care of everyone, Debbie getting pregnant, Ian and Mickey’s crazy love story, to Fiona’s crazy love life.

Fiona is the story’s protagonist; then there’s Frank who is not role model-worthy dad–an alcoholic and thief falling in and out of parental responsibilities; Debbie who is just not who you think she’d turn out to be and gets pregnant at a young age; Carl, the younger brother who grows up too fast and who definitely “glows” up, and tries to care for the family; Ian, who’s personality changes throughout the show, and who will always be my favorite character from that show; Lip, who is the older brother who tries to do his best. There are other characters, but you’ll just have to watch it to find out who they are!

Z Nation

“Z Nation” is another one of my favorite TV shows on Netflix. It has diverse and unexpected plot lines centered around drama. I’ve watched it twice just because I love it. Sometimes the show falters from poor or lower budget CGI, but it makes up for it in great story lines. The drama and suspense keeps the show fresh. I have a thing for zombie apocalypse movies and TV shows, and this show is all about that.

“Z Nation” is about a group of people that end up as a group and come together to survive during this zombie apocalypse. The group have to get Murphy to a lab because he was injected with a vaccine which can help with the virus to make him half zombie and half human. The show is their journey throughout where they have to go to save each other and get Murphy to where he needs to be. The show revolves around Murphy is usually a sarcastic, unpleasant person to be around, but at the end he comes around. Addy and Mack share a compelling love story.

The main characters include Mack, Addy, Doc, Murphy (the show’s central character), Warren, Cassandra and 10K, whose real name is Tommy. 10K is my favorite character throughout the show. At first he’s weird about being in a group but he comes around, and becomes a big part of the show.

“Z Nation”

Lucifer

“Lucifer” is one of my favorites on Netflix. Lucifer has the extreme romance mixed with immortal mysticism as mirrored in “The Vampire Diaries.” I love it, and I’m excited for the next season to come out because the last season that’s on Netflix ended on a high note, but unsatisfied tensions in suspense. I suggest watching this one, too, if you like immortal, mythical, romantic shows.

“Lucifer” is about the devil who’s name is Lucifer Morningstar, who is in human form, but he’s like a regular person living his life as a club owner. He has the devil face and the “desire” for people to tell him things, and he doesn’t bleed, but other than that, he looks and acts like a regular person.

Lucifer tells people that he’s the devil, but no one actually believes him until he proves it to them. He has brothers that can come down from Heaven, and mess with his life. Chloe is one of the protagonists other than the anti-hero, Lucifer, and she eventually turns into Lucifer’s lover.

New Girl

“New Girl” is a show that I’m currently watching. I’m only on the second season, but it’s already a favorite. I think it’s hilarious. Jess is a woman who lives outside of the status quo and who has her own ways of coping with things she goes through. For example, she made a theme song for herself, which is the intro to each episode.

The guys she dwells with have their own plot lines and issues going on, and if you watch it, you’ll for sure laugh at their working dynamics and conflict resolution.. I highly suggest that you watch it because it is hilarious.

Plot Synopsis:

“New Girl” is about the female protagonist, Jess, who moves in with three guys because she had to move out of her apartment previously shared with her ex, Spencer, because she caught him cheating. The show centers around the reality to their everyday life, from Schmidt being a germophobe and always cleaning to apartment, to Nick crying over Caroline, and Jess watching Dirty Dancing 100 times after her breakup with Spencer. At first they were against Jess moving in, but then they become closer to each other and develop friendships.

Schmidt, Nick, Winston and Cece are the other main characters in this show. Cece is Jess’s best friend, Schmidt likes Cece, Nick is in love with Caroline and Winston just came back from playing pro-basketball in Lativa for two years.

“New Girl”

Of course, this is just my opinion on the best ones on Netflix that I have watched. I watch a lot of Netflix so if you even have some suggestions, let me know and which ones are your favorites.
