My Top 5 Gilmore Girls Characters

Out of all the amazing actors in Gilmore Girls, it’s hard to pick just 5. The following characters have made the show so entertaining, funny, and overall comforting. With seven outstanding seasons, these are my top 5.

1. Jess

Without a doubt, Jess is my favorite character in Gilmore Girls. He had such a genuine love for Rory and they bonded so well, especially over books. One of his most famous quotes, “No Yale- why did you drop out of Yale?” He encouraged Rory to go back to school and finally start getting her life back together. This is one of many reasons why he’s my favorite.

2. Luke

Luke holds such a special place in my heart. He waited for Lorelai for such a long time and they were a power couple. He was like a father to Rory and never failed to show up. Not to mention, he was also a father figure to Jess. Graduation, college, being sick, whatever it was Luke was always there.

3. Lorelai

Despite relationship drama, having a kid at 16, countless arguments with her mom, Lorelai has a bright spirit and brings humor wherever she goes. She wasn’t just a mom to Rory, but a friend who comforted and encouraged her. Luke’s Diner was the cafe she went to just about everyday and ordered if not one, two coffees. She’s an extreme caffeine addict and has an obsession with ordering Chinese takeout. Lorelai looks for the positive in situations and is a fantastic mother to Rory.

4. Rory

The star of the show, Rory Gilmore is known for her academic accomplishments and study habits. She is an incredible influence who can achieve anything she sets her mind to and makes it clear to never give up on goals. Her lifestyle with romantic relationships and also her strong bond with her mom keeps the show entertaining. Out of all the relationships she has been in, Jess has most definitely been my favorite.

5. Tristan

Although Tristan was only in a few episodes, I couldn’t exclude him from my list. The best two words I would describe him as are flirtatious and humorous. He always tried to mess with Rory and get on her nerves whenever they attended Chilton. Overall, he is a charming character who could be a pain to Rory at school.
