Well it’s that time again! It’s the time where we make all these promises for the year, such as being more productive, or even just getting up off the couch. Every year feels like a fresh start to flip your life around, so get out your notepads and plan out your goals and aspirations for this new year. Here’s a quick guide to setting goals for the new year and improving your lifestyle day by day!
Making unrealistic goals
When we plan out our year, we usually put a bunch of goals down that we know won’t get completed. So, instead of making promises you can’t keep, make them more realistic. To start off, you can come up with and write out three really good goals you know can be done this year. And as the year goes on, you can add to that list. Therefore, you’re not putting too much on your plate in the beginning. Remember, it’s better to tackle things on the way down the road, not all at once.

How to plan out a good year
To have a good year, you have to first start off with a good and positive mindset. Your goals don’t just have to focus on being productive and the boring stuff. Some of your goals could also be spending more time with family and friends; which is a great commitment! Traveling more, or just having lots of fun can also be some of your goals.
Some good ways to plan out your year in a more organized way could include investing in a journal, making a vision board, or you could even buy a paper calendar/planner and physically write out your plans in. A vision board is a great way to see how you want your year to be in a visual form, and you can make it really cute with pops of color and personality. The planner is also a really good way to track your days and what’s coming up so you’re prepared.

The power of personal growth
The new year isn’t only about tackling all your goals on the outside, but it’s also about achieving your goals to grow on the inside as well. Your mental health is a very important thing, so make sure you prioritize that before anything. As you grow up, you’ll realize that if you’re in a good mental space, it will really impact how well you get all your other goals done too. Always remember that yourself and feelings are more important than any chore that “needs” to be done. Putting yourself first is a really rewarding but hard challenge you have to overcome over time.

This year is a really good opportunity to overcome the past, live in the moment, stop focusing on the little things, and explore new interests that bring you happiness! Happy New Year from The Warrior Word!
