As this school year comes to an end, seniors are soaking in these last few days before the next chapter. Claire Green has played a huge role here at Cherokee, impacting those around her with her contagious smile, incredible work ethic, and impressive stamina.

Although there are many struggles in high school, Claire kept her motivation by setting high expectations for herself and striving to get into a good college. She advises to the incoming freshman to make goals and “understand that you are still human,” even though the path may be unclear.
Someone she looks up to in life is her sister. Despite the age gap, Claire’s older sister “takes the role of a mentor” and is always by her side.
“Fight today’s fires.” – Claire’s older sister
At Cherokee we are so blessed to have Claire as one of our photographers and journalists for The Warrior Word! She started her photography journey when she was a freshman and as the photos became more popular, Claire realized how much she loves sharing what she loves to do.

Advanced Comp teacher, Ms. Mathews, has great things to say about Claire. She is a “natural leader” with a focused mentality, who keeps classmates on the right track. The biggest thing she will miss is her pure and contagious laughter.
“I enjoy conversing with her; her honesty and thoughtful nature helps motivate me to be a better teacher!” -Ms. Mathews, Advanced Comp teacher
“Claire is a level-headed, disciplined young lady who has contributed greatly to the Warrior Word through her skilled photography and sports reporting. Even though we are thrilled that she is graduating and starting at UGA, we feel just SAD to lose her!”-Ms. Birdwell, newspaper sponsor

Claire’s parents are so proud of all the accomplishments and milestones she has made. We asked them some questions to answer, and their responses are as follows:
Question: What is the biggest accomplishment you have seen Claire complete?
We believe Claire’s biggest accomplishment has been the ability to balance staying so active at CHS by cheering on multiple cheer squads all 4 years, being the school photographer for football and baseball, getting up early every week for SALT, and being in NHS while keeping all A’s all 4 years and an SAT high enough to be accepted at UGA.
Question: What makes you most proud of Claire?
We are most proud of Claire for being a kind, loving Christian.
Question: Watching her grow up, what is one of your favorite memories together?
How she always beat the boys at whatever they were competing in.
Question: What will you miss the most about her when she goes off to college?
Her smile saying ‘Good Morning!’ at all hours of the day.

“We will dearly miss Claire but we are excited to see her pursue her dreams in college.”

“I admire that Claire is a very motivated person. Anything she wants to accomplish, she will. She is also very intelligent and kind and has a fun personality. It’s always a joy to be around her.” -Sadie Hatcher
“My favorite memory with Claire is when we all go to the beach and hang out. We listen to music and tan and talk about stuff that doesn’t really matter, but it’s still nice and different from our day to day lives of school and work.” -Noelle Richardson
Cherokee is going to miss you, Claire, and we appreciate everything you have contributed to The Warrior Word and the school and community as a whole. You will accomplish great things, and everyone is so incredibly proud of you beyond measure!
