Growing up, I was always watching Disney Channel Original movies and obsessing over all of the music. Every time a new one came out, I would make sure I had it recorded on my TV and make snacks to eat, while sitting on my couch with bunches of blankets to watch the premiere of the new movie.
Over the years, I have rewatched these movies countless times and even committed some of the dialogue to memory. I can still come home from school and put on a DCOM while working on my homework and cleaning my room.
I consider myself to be a Disney Channel enthusiast and have given myself the task of curating my personal list of the top 10 Disney Channel movies. So, while this might be controversial, here are my favorites.
10. Prom Pact
Although it’s one of the newest DCOM movies, it’s one of my new favorites. When this movie came out, I watched it three times within the week it was released. It’s the perfect romcom, and it’s so adorable…the perfect movie for prom season, as well!
9. The Cheetah Girls
The Cheetah Girls, the extraordinary Disney Channel girl group movies, are so iconic, and I loved watching these as a kid. I won’t even mention their phenomenal fashion that really made them stand out!
8. Let it Shine
One of the most memorable movies is, of course, Let it Shine. The rap battles in this movie make it so much fun. This movie definitely features some of the best Disney Channel songs and is truly unforgettable.
7. Adventures in Babysitting
Adventures in Babysitting is the epitome of entertaining, and it’s such an exciting story. Watching Sabrina Carpenter and Sofia Carson play two babysitters who dash around town with five kids is something I’ll never get tired of, and the suspense that lasts throughout the story always has me on the edge of my seat.
6. Cloud 9
Next, Cloud 9 is a movie I have to watch every winter. I love the snowboarding concept this story follows, and it’s so unique compared to the other DCOMs. “Cloud 9” is a song I’ll always have on repeat, as well.
5. Lemonade Mouth
Lemonade Mouth is one I will never get weary of! The friendships in this story and the plot following their formation of a band in study hall is so unique. Every time I watch this, I want to try Mel’s lemonade so badly!
4. Camp Rock
One of my favorites will always be Camp Rock, which introduced me to one of my favorite bands, the Jonas Brothers. This is such a fun movie about a rock star summer camp and the cast really brings the movie to life.
3. Descendants
Growing up in elementary school during the release of Descendants 1, 2, and 3, I remember that these movies were all anyone was talking about. They’re the perfect spinoff of the villains we all know and love, and it’s so exciting to follow the story of their kids! And, of course, I still listen to the soundtrack endlessly to this day.
2. High School Musical
Of course, the classic and, by far, the best Disney Channel movie trilogy had to make 2nd place. High School Musical is rightfully one of the most popular Disney movies, and it deserves all of the hype. Out of this franchise, the third is my favorite. Each movie is truly unforgettable.
1. Teen Beach Movie
Last but not least, my all-time favorite Disney Channel original movie is Teen Beach Movie. It’s the perfect summer film and has the best soundtrack, without question. The cast, featuring Ross Lynch and Maia Mitchell, is everything! Nothing can top Teen Beach Movie, and I stand by that one.
