Cherokee furthered their lead with a 25 yard field goal in the second quarter by kicker and junior, Reed Chandley.

Cherokee lead 10-0 in by halftime.

Etowah quickly lessened the lead and scored their first touchdown of the game with a punt returned for a touchdown, and was able to tie it up with a field goal.

Cherokee however was able take the lead once again with another touchdown at the end of the third quarter.

With a final quarter touchdown from the Eagles, the clock ran out with the teams tied 17-17.

The second overtime came and Etowah was up first. With a successful rush, Etowah scored their touchdown and PAT. As Cherokee’s time came up energy was high in the stadium. Cherokee was able to score a touchdown and was down one point. Due to earlier injury to kicker Reed Chandley, Cherokee decided to not attempt the PAT and instead go for the two-point conversion. With an incomplete pass to a reciever in the endzone, Etowah won the game 30-31.

Cherokee now holds a (0-2) record.

The stands of Etowah were packed out with Decades Out.

Tough loss against Etowah especially by one point but we’re going to bounce back and get on track.
