The CHS Varsity Basketball boys and girls won in their fifth conference game Tuesday, January 11, against the Roswell Hornets at home with a final score of 62-55 for the boys and 70-49 for the girls.
The Lady Warriors played first. The battle between the Warriors and the Hornets began close; however Cherokee quickly took the lead and left Roswell in the dust. The Warriors came out with the win with a score of 70-49. The Lady Warriors’ overall record is now 13-5.

After a devastating conference loss to Roswell last month away at Roswell High School, the Cherokee boys were hungry for revenge.
The boys’ game followed the girls. As the boys’ game began, it became clear that hard work and determination would be critical to come out on top. The game continued to be close until the fourth quarter when the Warriors pulled away for the final minutes. The boys were victorious and ended the game with a score of 62-55. The boys’ overall record is now 13-6.

Both Cherokee and Roswell are members of AAAAAAA Region 5. The home conference wins moved the boys’ region record to 2-3 and the girls’ to 4-1.

The Warriors will take on Woodstock, Friday, Jan. 21. The girls’ game begins at 6 p.m. and the boys’ at 7:30 p.m. at Woodstock High School. Come out and support your Warriors as they face the Wolverines!
