Warrior of the Week: Belle Stills

Belle Stills was recommended this week by Profe Coury for our student spotlight. Belle is a sophomore at Cherokee, who is “not only a great student, but also a light and good influence to everyone around her,” as said by her fellow sophomore, Grace McPherson.

Belle is an awesome student who genuinely cares about doing well in everything she does, but more impressive is how she genuinely cares about people around her and making a positive impact in their lives.

Belle is a member of the mastery band, First Priority, Friends Club, and the Beat Out Cancer Club. She also participated in competition cheer last year, and this year is her second year of being on the homecoming court.

About Belle Stills

What do you like most about Cherokee?

I love how there’s so many clubs and sports opportunities for absolutely anyone to join! There’s literally a club for anything, and I love it.

What are some goals you have for this year?

Really my main goal is to pass chemistry. Science is not where my brains are at.

What hobbies and interests do you have?

Singing, band and orchestra, and poetry.

What is your favorite subject? Why?

I’d say Spanish because I love my teacher, and the class is so fun. Shoutout to Mrs. Razz! She makes class interesting and not boring.

What interests do you want to pursue after high school?

Cosmetology and worship! I plan to become a hair stylist, but I also really want to do something in the music industry at churches because I love singing.

Who are some teachers at Cherokee who have impacted you?

Profe Coury! He was my Spanish teacher last year, and I still visit him three times a day this year. He’s so easy to talk to and helped me a lot last year by just being himself. I looked forward to his class because it was just so fun. We have a handshake and everything! #proferapy

What is the best piece of advice you’ve received?

Don’t let anyone impact the way you feel or act. They can judge all they want; they can try to influence your life in a bad way, but you can do what you want. This is your life, live it.

Is there anything else you want us to know?

You are never alone, whatever you’re going through, and someone else has gone through it, as well. When you’re feeling down, just know you’re strong and you’re loved. To whoever reads this, you are amazing.

We wish Belle good luck in her next years of high school and know she is off to do great things!
