Behind the mask: Sophomore: Katelyn Smallwood

Katelyn Smallwood, sophomore, was nominated by her literature teachers, Ms. Floyd and Ms. Forman, to be featured in our Behind the Mask student spotlight series.

About: Katelyn Smallwood

What are you involved in here at Cherokee and the community?

I am in the colorguard at Cherokee High School. In the community I volunteer at a lot of places.

What’s something interesting you want people to know about you?

I am constantly changing. I try to better myself every day.

What hobbies and interests do you have?

I like to sing, although I may not be the best at it.

What’s your favorite subject?

Math.

What do you like the most about Cherokee?

The great people that surround you. You never feel alone at Cherokee and you can always talk to someone.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

“Be the change you wish to see in the world.” -Gandhi
