Here at Cherokee High School, we love to shoutout our beloved staff members.
Mrs. Walker has been teaching at CHS since 2010. She teaches English for both 10th and 12th grade. She started teaching because she had a strong passion for helping others and wanted to impact students lives. While at CHS, she has coached both volleyball and softball before opening a sports training facility.
I loved having Mrs. Walker. She gave challenging work and incorporates life lessons into literature. She was always easy to talk to and wasn’t afraid to tell you what you’re doing wrong, but was always approachable if you didn’t understand.
Caroline Burke, Senior

We asked Mrs. Walker a few questions about her years teaching and how she got here.
Where did you attend college?
I got my bachelors at Lincoln Memorial University, my masters at Armstrong Atlantic State University, and I got my specialists around Liberty University.
What advice would you give athletes? Students?
You have to really want it and work hard to get to your end goal. Things won’t just be handed to you… you got to go out and work for it and claim what you want.
What is one thing you wish you knew coming into teaching?
What you see in the movies/ what you think it will be like is nothing like the real thing.
Through her years of teaching here, Mrs. Walker has touched hundreds of students’ lives, and she will continue to touch more in her upcoming years.
