You hear about it on the CHS news. You read about it on the posters posted inside your hallways. But WHAT is Newspaper club? Will this club fit around my busy schedule? WHEN is it? Did you know it’s also a credited class? I’m here to answer these questions for you.

Newspaper club is a club where you express your ideas and keep the community informed by writing articles and sharing your photography. The topics we cover include reviewing movies, TV shows, student spotlights, local events, topics of student interest, and more.
Will this club accept my busy schedule?
Yes, we will. We understand students have things to do after school, like sports, family gatherings, etc. Come in anytime and express your thoughts! You can also submit something you’d like published at anytime to contact@cherokeehighnews.com.

If you can’t come to the club, take the class!
The Newspaper class is avalible to take freshman – senior year. In class, we write articles and work to improve your journalistic writing skills, interviewing skills, photography, and more as well as dive more deeply on issues affecting journalists such as copyright law and first amendment rights.
“I want to come in, but it’s too late in the year”
It’s never too late! Pop in Ms. Teasley’s room in Cherokee North 905 sometime between 3:30 and 4:30 on a Tuesday and we can answer questions you have.
