May the 4th be with you! May the forth is a reserved holiday for all the Star Wars fans. After all, each one of the eleven Star Wars films holds a dear place in fans’ hearts, especially now that George Lucas is 72. 

This day is observed worldwide by fans of the Star Wars franchise. The day’s significance, inspired by the obvious connection to the date’s word pun play, spread quickly through media. The popular Star Wars phrase, “May the force be with you” had morphed into the saying, “May the 4th be with you,” and now accounts for probably a good percentage of today‘s social media hashtags.

Fans thought the famous May-day was great for the special holiday. Just recently, California allowed voters to declare May fourth “Star Wars Day”by voting and it was approved. May fourth is now OFFICIALLY a Star Wars day! 

In honor of this holiday, we thought we would entertain readers with little known things about Star Wars and the franchise:

 Luke Skywalker, a main character in the films, is the hero with thousands of faces.
 The initial draft of this script was too long
 George used visual arts to sell the film.
 Harrison Ford was casted as Han Solo by accident
 Orson Welles was almost Darth Vader
 The name Darth Vader wasn’t anything special to Lucas
 The original Millennium Falcon looked totally different than the ones used in the films

 It took four men to portray the one Darth Vader
