Halloween Costume Ideas for the 2026 season; from animals to Pop Stars

Since Halloween 2026 is on a Saturday, there will be a whole weekend of festivities and dressing up. The next time that Halloween will be on a Saturday doesn’t occur until 2036, 10 years from now. There is lots of costumes to choose from so let’s dive in into the most popular to the most unique.

Vampire or Black Cat

One of the most worn and chosen costumes of every year is a vampire or black cat. For this costume all you need is a black top and a black skirt or black shorts. You can pair it with simple cat ears for the cat costume or fake blood for the vampire costume. It’s the most basic and highly picked costume because of how simple and inexpensive it is. Although it being basic, it’s still a pro choice because of how cute it is. It only takes 3 items but all paired together creates a cute outcome.

Celebrities and Pop Stars

Halloween is all about being whoever you want to be. With that said, another fun one is being another person. Not just any person, though, your pick of a famous person. This can range from Kesha and Britney Spears to Adam Sandler or a character from a movie. Most people pick one of their iconic looks and recreate it. This one can be simple and inexpensive or it can range to multiple different pieces put together creating the perfect look.

Duo, Trio, and Group costumes

Most people go out with their friends for Halloween, so most choose to match as a simple but still creative idea. There are multiple different matching costumes to choose from. Some of my favorites include dressing as the cast of FRIENDS, each friend in your group being a different character, being Thing One and Thing Two from The Cat in the Hat, being the three witches from Hocus Pocus, etc. Most pick iconic characters from a movie or TV show and run with it. This costume dynamic is one of the most picked and most efficiently used.

These are just some suggestions on ideas of who you can dress up as, but take your own creativity and use it to its full extreme. The Warrior Word wishes you a happy and creative Halloween.
