GOALS

Goals are a good thing to have. You can start some in the beginning of the year, the middle, or even the end. It all depends on timing and when you feel motivated. If you’re a senior, right now is the time you start picking out colleges and putting applications in. Or if you’re not going to college you’re still figuring out what you want to do with your life when you graduate. The counselors are always there to help you, so use that to your advantage.

“The new year stands before us, like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written.”

-Melody Beattie.

Looking back on the past year

As a new year approaches, it also gives us time to reflect on our past year. Maybe you had something you accomplished last year or something you are still striving to complete this year. Reflecting on the past always comes with preparing for the future. It’s always good to have something to strive for, even if that thing is small. It’s still something.

“Every moment is a fresh beginning.”

– T.S. Eliot.

Things you can do

There are many things you can do to accomplish these goals or kick old habits. If you’re more of a see it, do it person then you can get a check list/ to-do list or you can make a calendar to organize your days better. You can get a notebook and take up journaling if you want to write out all your feelings, this is a method recommended by therapists. Or you can even make a goals list and check them off along the way. Another way to let go of the past is by writing down everything you want to let go of on a plate and break it on the ground, just make sure to clean up after.

I hope this article helped you brainstorm some ways to ring in the new year and stay consistent. The Warrior Word wishes you a happy new year with new beginnings.
