Throughout the four years of high school, people come and go. Some you’ll connect with deeply, while others you may never truly get to know. To shed light on the passions and personalities of CHS students, I sat down with junior Charlie Grogan.
Charlie, a kind and outgoing student, shared her passions, dreams, and aspirations for the future. From her love of animals to her passion for running and her dream of becoming a news broadcaster, Charlie has plenty to share about who she is both in and out of school.
1: Tell me a little about yourself.
Hi I am Charlie Grogan I am 16 years old I am a junior. I have 3 siblings 2 brothers and 1 sister and I love animals.
She talks about how she has two dogs named Blaze and Stella and a cat named Smokey. She discusses how her two dogs have very different personalities being that her dog blaze is very energetic and her other dog Stella is described as skittish and feisty. However both of them are extremely protective.

2: Do you have any hobbies outside of school?
I love to run I participate in both track and cross country and in addition I like to read inspirational quotes and stories that help my mindset.
When asked about track her eyes lit up.
I have been doing track for about 6 years and I just love it!
On track Charlie run in both the 1600m and 3200m. The 3200m is the longest run for track in high school. She hopes to continue track and cross country after high school.

3: If you could travel anywhere where would you go?
I’ve been to Ireland a couple of years ago and it was gorgeous so I would definitely love to go back and see more of it.
Charlie visited Northern Ireland to celebrate her sister’s engagement. She talked about how she stayed in a castle in the middle of the countryside. She says she enjoyed the peace and loved getting to celebrate her sister’s engagement.

4: What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
She thinks for a moment then grins.
I am very emotional like I could watch a sad movie and I would be sobbing but I feel a lot of people probably don’t know that.
5: What’s your favorite class or subject and why?
I used to love math but recently I’ve started to love literature and I would definitely say English is my favorite subject currently.
Charlie loved taking geometry last year and found it easy but this year she is taking favor towards her AP language class.
6: What’s been your favorite memory in high school so far?
She thinks for a moment before answering.
I would say meeting my friends on my team and spending time with them is my favorite memory so far
7: Do you have any plans for after high school?
Her eyes lit up with excitement to talk about her passion.
I want to be a News Broadcaster or reporter and I am trying to work on things like interviewing.
And when asked who inspires her most to become a reporter she says:
There’s a news reporter I follow named Bailey she’s been in the field for a long time and speaks so well. She’s definitely an inspiration and role model for me.
8: If you could have any dream job, what would it be?
She laughs for a moment before saying:
I think in an ideal world I would love to just be able to not work at all but I would love to be a reporter as well.
9: If you had any advice for a freshman what would it be?
Learn how to study early because you will regret it later if you don’t stay on top of work.
10: Anything you would like to add?
No I feel like you covered it all!
Charlie Grogan is more than just a student at CHS she’s a runner, an animal lover, a dreamer, and a future reporter with big goals ahead. Her kindness and determination shows through in everything she does, whether it’s on the track, in the classroom, or when talking about her future. As Charlie continues her journey through high school and beyond, one thing is clear: she has the passion and drive to make her dreams a reality.
