CHS’s Mardi Gras prom

This year’s prom took place at the Biltmore Ballrooms in downtown Atlanta from 6:30 P.M. to 10:30 P.M., March 19. The theme for prom was Mardi Gras; the main dance floor was covered in pink and purple lights. Overall, the staff put together an amazing night for everyone involved.

Students were either dancing in the ballroom or conversing in the other parts of the venue, having the time of their lives. The music was blasting so loudly, the people a block away were likely bobbing their heads up and down. Between the sparkling dresses and the snazzy suits, Cherokee really knows how to clean up.

Thanks to Mrs. Jansen, along with Mrs. McNellie and the prom committee, this wonderful event took place, and everyone had a great time. Mrs. Jansen shared, “Prom was a success, and everyone behaved.”

The Biltmore Ballroom was constructed in 1924 and still holds strong today. Staying in line with the Mardi Gras theme, sponsors were handing out beads and ‘Carnevale,’ also known as Mardi Gras masks, collectively contributing to the overall festive atmosphere. CHS was happy to make the Biltmore the location for its 2022 prom.

Thank you to all the staff who were supervising the event and making sure that everyone was having a good time. Everyone appreciates you for spending your evening helping out with prom.

Cherokee is home to some of the most amazing people-everyone looked quite elegant that evening, showing the community how polished CHS can be.

Daniel Mwangi and Carly Waugh, CHS’s wonderful Prom King and Queen, two special people truly deserving the crown.

Prom 2022 was a terrific success! For many, it was a night that won’t be forgotten. The music was booming, while everyone was dancing and raising the ROOF. Thank you to Mrs. Jansen, Mrs. McNellie, and the prom committee, who all contributed to make this a truly memorable event.
