The CHS Varsity Basketball boys lost in their eighth conference game of the season on Tuesday, January 25, against the Milton Eagles at home with a final score of 58-51.
As soon as the game began, excitement and intensity rose. The game started out as a relatively low-scoring game with back and forth turnovers. One team would take the lead, and the other would come back to tie it up. By the end of first quarter, Milton was leading 12-10.
Second quarter continued as an insanely close battle, and by halftime Cherokee had taken the lead 26-28.
After the Senior Superlative Ceremony at halftime, the game continued with high energy starting in Cherokee’s possession. The game continued through third quarter with Cherokee scoring 12 more points and Milton scoring 18 more. Heading into fourth quarter, Milton lead 44-40.
Fourth quarter was just as low-scoring and intense. With back and forth turnovers and numerous fouls, Milton held their lead and won the game 58-51.

Both Cherokee and Milton are members of AAAAAAA Region 5. The home conference loss moved the boys’ region record to 4-4.

This guy, Mason Bennett, was tremendous last night with 16 points, four rebounds, three STLs and two assists. Congrats to him on being named Longhorns’ Player of the Game.

The Warriors will take on Alpharetta, Friday, Feb. 4. The boys’ game begins at 7:30 p.m. at home at Cherokee High School. Come out and support your Warriors as they face the Raiders!
