Madison Bowden // Editor-in-Chief
Madison Bowden is a junior at Cherokee. This is her third year writing for The Warrior Word, and she has taken on the role of Editor-In-Chief. Outside of writing, she enjoys playing softball for Cherokee’s Varsity team, reading sci-fi and fantasy books, and playing with her cat Coke. She is committed to Covenant College to play softball and to persue a Bachelor’s Degree in English to become a book editor.
Makenzie Bird // Assistant Editor
Makenzie Bird is a sophomore at Cherokee and this is her second year writing with The Warrior Word, taking on the role of assistant editor. Outside of journalism, Makenzie enjoys dance, design, and playing the piano and ukulele. She hopes to one day become a fiction writer, and if not that, teach.
Samantha Dodd // Project Manager
Samantha Dodd is a junior at Cherokee High School and this is her second year writing for The Warrior Word. This year her goals include: honor roll, perfect attendance, meet new people, and make new friends. She is a member of the Cherokee High School Color and Winter Guard. Samantha has a passion for art expressed through makeup, crochet, and writing.
Claire Green // Head Photographer
Claire Green is a sophomore and this is her second year on staff. She enjoys cooking, playing piano, fly fishing, photography, and spending time with friends and family. In school, she enjoys math and biology.
Holden Fagan // Senior Staff Writer
Holden Fagan is a senior at Cherokee High School, and this is his second year writing for the Warrior Word. This year, Holden is taking human anatomy and is on the CHS swim team.
Amelia Buhl // Staff Writer
Amelia Buhl is a freshman at Cherokee High School, and a new contributor to The Warrior Word. Some of Some of Amelia’s goals for the 2021-22 school year are to make new friends and get good grades. During her free time, she loves to participate in creative and artistic activities such as journaling and making jewelry. Amelia is super excited to be a part of the journalism staff and loves Cherokee High School so far!
Evalyn Olejnik // Staff Writer
Evalyn is a sophomore at Cherokee High School and this is her first year writing for The Warrior Word. This year Evalyn hopes to keep her high grades, stay involved in clubs, and publish for The Warrior Word.
Reese Buffington // Staff Writer
Reese Buffington is a sophomore at Cherokee High School. This is her first year writing for The Warrior Word. She enjoys cheerleading and hanging out with friends. Reese hopes to one day go into real estate or interior design.
Riley Dilda // Staff Writer
Riley Dilda is a sophomore at Cherokee High School and this is her first year as a writer for the Warrior Word. For the school year she hopes to keep A’s and B’s on her report card and meet new people. Her hobbies include hanging out with friends, taking pictures, and shopping.
Addie Dunstan // Staff Writer
Addie Dunstan is a freshman for the 2021-22 school year. She loves her classes and enjoys drawing. In her free time, Addie chats with her friends and sketches in her sketchbook. Addie says she is “looking forward to her journey this upcoming school year”.
Lorelei Sheldon // Staff Writer
Lorelei is a freshman and a first year writer for The Warrior Word. She enjoys company and competition dance. She hopes to become a dancer on a cruise ship and a sign language interpreter.
David Quintero // Staff Writer
David Quintero is a freshman at Cherokee High School and is a part of the freshman football team. He is #26 and a defensive back. Some of his goals this year include winning the championship for football, getting straight A’s, and being a leader on and off the football field. David’s favorite subject is math and looks forward to the rest of his freshman year at CHS.
