Alex Bennett

Alex is a senior at Cherokee high school and a writer with The Warrior Word after school club. She’s involved with several extra curriculars this year such as chorus, drama, friends club, speech and debate, and student government. She loves helping others whenever she can!
Makenzie Bird

Makenzie Bird is a freshman at Cherokee High School. This is her first year on the Warrior Word staff. Besides journalism, Makenzie enjoys playing the piano and ukulele. She hopes to one day become a fiction writer.
Samantha Dodd

Samantha Dodd is a sophomore at Cherokee High School and this is her first year writing for The Warrior Word. This year her goals include: honor roll, perfect attendance, meet new people, and make new friends. She is a member of the Cherokee High School Color and Winter Guard. Samantha has a passion for art expressed through makeup, crochet, and writing.
Claire Green

Claire Green is freshman, and this is her first year on staff. She enjoys cooking, playing piano, fly fishing, photography, and spending time with friends and family. In school, she enjoys math and biology.
Haley Kelley

Haley Kelley is a Junior at Cherokee High School. She has been a part of the Warrior Word Club for 3 years. A fun fact about her is that she has 4 pets; a dog and 3 hermit crabs. She enjoys reading and writing. Some of her favorite authors include William Shakespeare and Charles Dickens.
Ava Lees
Project Manager, Staff Writer
Ava Lees is a senior at Cherokee High School and a first-year member and Project Manager of The Warrior Word. She enjoys playing soccer, spending time with her friends, and traveling. Ava is a part of NHS, Beat Out Cancer, and the varsity soccer team. Her plan after school is to major in communications and pursue a career in writing.

Alek Pace is a senior at Cherokee High School and this is her second year writing for The Warrior Word. This year, she is our 2020-21 Editor-in-Chief. She also plays for Cherokee Impact’s National League team. Outside of sports, she enjoys photography and creating anyway she can.
Kayla Pimpleton
Assistant Editor-in-Chief
Kayla Pimpleton is a senior at Cherokee High School and the Assistant Editor for The Warrior Word. This is her second year with The Warrior Word. She has a passion for all sports and hopes to major in sports management in college. Kayla also manages Cherokee’s Flag Football team, and she is a member of Beat out Cancer and National Honors Society.
Emma Schnapp

Emma is 14 years old, a member of The Warrior Word club and an interesting fact: she was born on Halloween. She loves to write fiction stories and sometimes non-fiction. She has two horses: one named Sora, a black mustang and 4 years old, and another who is named Sassy. She is a pinto horse and she is 6 years old. Emma likes to draw and watch tv shows. Her favorite shows are Stranger Things, Outer Banks, The Walking Dead, and The Umbrella Academy. When she’s older, she wants to be an actress or an equestrian.
