The 2019-2020 school year features both a Newspaper Class staff that will head the production of the Warrior Word as well as guest contributors through the Newspaper club. The team represents a wide variety of interests, hobbies, and perspectives.
Nyasia Butler

Nyasia L. Butler is a junior who loves to dance, sing, write, draw, create, read, and design. She has had brain surgery twice when she was 4 and 5 years old, but is doing great now. She dreams of becoming an actress, fashion model, photographer, solo artist, movie editor, and an author. She dreams of owning multiple businesses, a gold Lexus LX, Yellow 488 GTB Ferrari, Red Ford Focus, and a black Camaro. Lastly she is awesome.
Hali Coombs

Hali Coombs is a senior at Cherokee High School. She’s a lover of performing, writing, and fashion. Along with being apart of Warrior Word, she’s also in Cherokee’s award-winning Speech and Debate team. She’s always ready to cover news and look cute while doing it.
Raquel Garay

Raquel is 17 year old photographer. She is a senior and new to the Warrior Word this year. She plans on going to UGA to become an athletic trainer. Her dream job is to work at UGA as the head athletic trainer. She wants to do this because she loves being able to help people. She is very caring and is always wanting to put other’s needs before hers. If this doesn’t work out then her back up career is to be a professional photographer. She loves taking pictures because she finds it as a way to express herself. She is very outgoing and willing to try new things. She is very helpful and is always ready to be a team player.

Alek Pace is a junior at Cherokee High School and it is her first year writing for the Warrior Word. She is part of Cherokee’s varsity soccer team. She also plays on Cherokee Impact’s RPL soccer team.

Kayla Pimpleton is a junior at Cherokee High School, and it is her first year writing for the Warrior Word. She plays on the jv soccer team for Cherokee and enjoys all sports. Kayla hopes to major in sports management after graduating next year.

Mallory Sheppard

Mallory Sheppard is a Senior at Cherokee High. She is on the varsity golf team. She grew up playing basketball but was always around golf somehow. Outside of playing golf, she also takes pictures for the Warrior Word as the head photographer. She has had two years of experience with the Cherokee High Photography class. After high school, she is planning on going to college and she is hoping to major in biology. Since Mallory was young, she has been dreaming of being a veterinarian after being surrounded by animals.
